SOGLA (THE ACADEMY OF SOCIAL ENTREPRENEUR YOUNG LEADERS)
SOGLA, prepared as a project by two graduates of Boğaziçi University (Ece Ercel and Timur Tiryaki), is to be a pioneer with both its purpose to define social entrepreneurship and to raise pioneer leaders and its vision to develop sustainable systems that ensures social transformation with professional coaching and personal development systems.
SOGLA Project was chosen as Turkey’s innovative idea for development in the Innovative Ideas for Development Competition organized by World Bank in 2009 and was financially supported by World Bank for one year from July 2009 to July 2010.
Among the goals of SOGLA are:
- To spread the concept of social entrepreneurship among the youth in Turkey,
- Increasing the number of social entrepreneurs by raising social entrepreneur leader candidates,
- Establishing a network of social entrepreneurship among businessworld, academy and the youth and fostering it,
- Ensuring societal development by increasing the social awareness level of the individuals,
- Enabling young people to be productive and problem solving individuals through the model of peer-to-peer coaching.
